HOW DO I FLY?
In the 3D views, touch or slide the thruster control at the bottom left with your left thumb: slide left and right to turn, slide up to fire the thrusters. In the top-down 2D view the control is a wheel: touch the pointer and slide it around the wheel in the direction you want to go; the farther the pointer is from the centre, the more thrust you get. The big green button on the right fires.
HOW DO I SWITCH BETWEEN 3D AND 2D?
Use the 3D / 2D switch below the life bar at the top left. The radars rotate to match the view you are in.
HOW DO I GET TO THE NEXT LEVEL?
Destroy every astermite (the bugs). The counter at the top left shows how many are left. You do not have to clear all the asteroids. When your life force runs out the game is over and you start again at level one.
WHAT ARE THE COLOURED CRYSTALS?
Power-ups. Fly through one to grab it. Weapon power-ups (red spread shot, green laser, yellow homing, magenta nova, blue rapid fire) replace your cannon for about twenty seconds. The cyan shield protects you for twelve seconds and destroys anything that touches it. The violet crystal teleports you somewhere random. The readout under the level number counts down what you have, and crystals show as coloured dots on the radars.
WHERE ARE MY HIGH SCORES KEPT?
On your device only. Deleting the app deletes them.
WHICH DEVICES ARE SUPPORTED?
iPhone and iPad running iOS 15 or later. The game plays in landscape.
THE GAME LOOKS SQUASHED OR LETTERBOXED
The game keeps its 3:2 (iPhone) or 4:3 (iPad) playfield and letterboxes on wider screens so nothing is stretched. On an iPad, hold the device in landscape for the full-screen view.
PRIVACY
Astermites does not collect, store or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. High scores are stored locally on your device and never leave it. The app does not require any permissions and does not access the network during play. Read the full privacy policy.
