ASTERMITES

THE GAME

You are flying around a small moon. Asteroids rise and fall on the horizon as you circle it, so you have to fly closer to shoot them. Each hit splits a rock into smaller pieces and shakes loose the orbs that drive your score. Hunting you the whole time are the astermites: bio-engineered bugs sent out by an alien species to strip metals from asteroids, moons and spaceships. Clear every astermite to reach the next level.

POWER-UPS

Coloured crystals drift around the moon. Fly through one to grab it:

• Spread Shot — a five-way fan of fire.
• Laser — a sweeping fan of beams that cuts through everything in its path.
• Homing — shots that lock onto the nearest target.
• Nova — a ring of twelve shots in every direction.
• Rapid Fire — three volleys for every tap.
• Shield — a bubble that destroys anything it touches.
• Teleport — an instant jump to somewhere else on the moon.
